Intelligent Transportation Society of America Announces Call for Entries for Student Essay Competition

Washington, DC (PRWeb) January 19, 2007 -- The Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America) announces a call for entries for the 2007 Student Essay Competition. ITS America's Student Essay Competition, sponsored by PBS&J, is designed to encourage student interest and future participation in the development of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and solutions. One winner will be honored during the opening ceremony of ITS America's 2007 Annual Meeting & Exposition to be held June 4-6, 2007 in Palm Springs, California.

"The application of advanced technologies to transportation is becoming increasingly important to mobility in America," said PBS&J Vice President Brad Dennard, "and this competition encourages students to find new solutions for the challenges that lie ahead. We are pleased to support this ITS America initiative to foster and encourage the advanced technology consultants and solution providers of tomorrow." PBS&J has sponsored ITS America's Student Essay Competition for six years.

Essays will be judged on their creativity, quality of exposition, originality, depth of knowledge and awareness of ITS issues and challenges. Both graduate and undergraduate students are eligible to participate.

The winner will receive complimentary registration, transportation and accommodations to attend ITS America's 2007 Annual Meeting & Exposition in Palm Springs. The winner will also have the have the opportunity to present their winning essay before a group of ITS leaders during the meeting's Research, Integration, Training and Education Forum Showcase.
