What is needed to run this successfully? What skills does the business owner bring to the table? What skills can be delegated to business partners, employees, contractors, etc? What are the costs of doing business? What is the game plan in the short, mid, and long term? Is a solid system in place to assure a greater chance of success? These questions can be asked for any potential business setting.

Yet, most people that go into real estate investing bypass those important questions. They chase after the promises of the business venture, or what they think to be promises. They ignorantly assume that investing in real estate will bring about residual cash flow and ever increasing property value. They fail to consider the complexities of the local, state, national economies; current events; seasonal trends; the demographics; city ordinances and plans; their own skills or lack of, etc.

Turnkey Is A Misconception

The truth of the matter is that there are no sureties in any business. This includes the real estate business. If one lacks the know-how of operating a business but has the dedication it takes to grow it, then one can greatly shorten the learning curve by surrounding themselves with educational material, coaches, master mind groups, conferences. The resources are vast, ensuring hope for the inexperienced entrepreneur.

Building A Solid Business Through Networking

One can search for local real estate groups|clubs. There is at least one in every major US city. There is a tremendous amount of online group support, as well. Real estate conferences are offered by many investors and investor groups all year round. It just takes some networking and getting to know the crowd and the industry. After that, the opportunities will appear.
